Background

The Ravensthorpe District has been the centre of numerous mining booms dating from the turn of the century to the present day. Rich in a diverse range of commodities, the area has produced significant quantities of gold, copper and nickel. Nickel production from the Ravensthorpe district continues today.

Specific to the Phillips River tenements, wide ranging exploration was undertaken in the late 1990's after Tectonic entered into an exploration farm in agreement with Homestake Gold (now Barrick Gold).

It was these joint venture exploration activities that identified a series of a series of three poly-metallic (lead, zinc, copper, gold) anomalies leading to the discovery and delineation of the Trilogy deposit.

After Homestake was taken over by Barrick Gold, Tectonic took the opportunity to reacquire 100% of the original Phillips River tenements. In addition Tectonic also acquired the 1200 Ha freehold farming property which hosts the Triolgy deposit.

Since 2002 the company has expanded the Kundip resource base from 146,000 ounces of gold to the current 738,000 ounces of gold and 24,000 tonnes of copper.

Today, Phillips River is 100% owned by Tectonic and comprises the Trilogy deposit and the historical mining centre known as Kundip.
